Safetylock & How to Use
What is the Safetylock?
The Safetylock is an optional breakaway clasp added to the Grunchy lanyard.
It is designed to open when the lanyard is subjected to sufficiently strong pulling force. This may help reduce the risk of the lanyard remaining tightly caught around the wearer.
You can select the Safetylock option on the product page before adding your Grunchy to the cart. The Safetylock is integrated into the finished product and cannot be added afterwards.
How does the Safetylock work?
The Safetylock consists of a breakaway clasp built into the Grunchy lanyard.
Under normal use, the clasp keeps the lanyard connected. If the lanyard is exposed to sufficiently strong pulling force, the clasp is designed to separate.
The Safetylock can then be connected again by pressing the two parts of the clasp back together.
The Safetylock is an additional safety feature, but it does not eliminate all risks and should not be treated as protective equipment.
Do I need a Safetylock?
The Safetylock is optional, and the right choice depends on how and where you plan to use your Grunchy.
You may prefer a Safetylock if you intend to wear a Long Grunchy around your neck or use it in an environment where the lanyard could become caught on an object.
A Grunchy without a Safetylock may be suitable when it is mainly carried over the shoulder, across the body, around the wrist or in your hand.
Always consider your own use, working environment and any applicable workplace safety requirements before choosing your Grunchy.
Can the Safetylock be added after purchase?
No. The Safetylock is integrated into the Grunchy during production and cannot be added to the finished product afterwards.
If you would like your Grunchy to include a Safetylock, select “With Safetylock” on the product page before adding the product to your cart.
Please check your selected option carefully before completing your order.
